5th Episode of Survivor Tocantins

The realty TV show Survivor Tocantins starts out this week at the Jalapao Tribe, day 13, and finding Taj saying she put Joe’s name down on the paper because she really didn’t want to put Sandy down.  Taj then went and found the immunity idol.  She handed it off to Stephen for safe keeping, as Taj thought she would be the one her tribe suspects as having it because of her many trips to Exile island.

Timbira, day 13, finding Sierra talking to Brendan about their alliance with Taj and Stephen from the Jalapao Tribe.  She told Brendan that we rule!  “We are going to take over the world.”

Challenge:  Played in rounds, with one tribe member seated on a round platform, another tribe member will then race, pulling a rope attached to that platform, causing the tribe member to get dizzy.  The dizzy castaway then must make their way across a balancing beam to the finish line.  Each time they win a round, they score a point.  The first tribe that has  3 points wins reward.  The reward is being sent to the Charmin Cafe, enjoying some nice strong coffee, pastries, use of a modern toilet and lots of Charmin.  In addition, the winning tribe will choose a member from the loosing tribe to go to Exile island, and that castaway will select someone from the winning tribe to join them.  This means that one person from the winning tribe will not enjoy the Charmin Café.

Jalapao wins the reward.  The tribe chooses Brendan to go to Exile island.  Brendan chooses his alliance member, Stephen from the Timbira tribe, to join him.  They then are able to tighten up their secret alliance.

At the reward the Jalapao members, minus Stephen, live it up with all kinds of pastries, coffee, and juices to drink.  They all then received letters from home, and showed many tears of joy as they read their letters.

In Timbira, day 13, the tribe members are upset about not winning.  Also, Coach is suspect about Brendan making friends with the Jalapao members on his stays at Exile island.  Then the wind picks up and a big rain storm hits the camp.

Challenge:  Two members from each tribe alternate launching balls out onto the course where the remaining castaways will catch the ball in their individual nets.  They can catch a ball from either tribe, which will score a point for their tribe.  The first tribe to get 5 catches will win immunity.  The loosing tribe goes to tribal council where somebody will be voted out of this game.

Timberia Tribe wins the immunity.  JT put in an amazing effort, and almost won it for Jalapoa.  He even lost a tooth while playing.

At Jalapao Tribe, day 15, the members are frustrated over the brutal challenge and having to loose it.  Taj thought Spencer was weak in the challenge.

At tribal council, the fifth person voted out of this realty tv Survivor Tocantins was Spencer, the 19 year old from Lakeland, Florida.   He also decided during the game to never reveal to his fellow tribe members that he was gay.

In Spencer’s last words, “I lasted 15 days but definitely could have lasted a lot longer.  I definitely made friends out there and hopefully they feel the same way.”

Spencer went on to say it is just frustrating that they feel like I wasn’t useful enough in Challenges.  It was just a really bad Challenge for me today and I feel like as far as my attitude . . . I’ll work on that.

Survivor Tocantins Episode 4

March 5th, 2009

4th Episode Survivor Tocantins

The beginning of the fourth episode of the realty TV show Survivor Tocantins finds us with 13 castaways left, and wondering who will be voted out tonight.

At Timbira, the Coach was pissed because Erinn did not see him as a tribe leader.  Coach said if Jerry hadn’t been sick and voted off, Erinn would have been voted off instead.  But then Coach tells everyone that Tyson should be the tribe leader, playing out his secret strategy.

Over in Jalapao, Taj wants to speak to Stephen about her secret alliance, which is Brendan and Sierra over at the Timbira Tribe.  Stephen told Taj that he’s in.

The Challenge was for 3 people to balance weights on a pole sitting on their shoulders, with 2 guys and 1 gal from each tribe.  Two castaways would decide who to put weight on the opposite tribe.  The winning tribe gets to send 2 castaways to the other tribe’s camp and take 2 items of their choice.  Also, the winner picks a member from the opposite tribe to go to Exile Island.

The competition was hard, but got down to the two women, Taj and Debra.  The strategy was to eliminate the men first, which worked out great for both sides.  After adding more weight to Debra, which brought the total pounds to 100, she let go.  Jalapao then won the reward, and made it straight 4 wins in a row for the happy tribe members.  They sent Sierra to Exile Island, who picked Taj.  But the plan made up by Taj and Brendan was for Sierra to pick Stephen, but we hear that Brendan never had a chance to be alone with Sierra to clue her in.

Back a Jalapao, Tyson felt weird seeing 2 opposite tribe members visiting his camp, and thieving 2 of their items.  But the guys went easy on them by only taking one bag of beans and leaving them with another.  The second item was a water container, which they had more of.  The boys thought that if the tribes were to be reconfigured, they wouldn’t want to be on Timbira with no food (sweet justice).

In Jalapao, Sandy was getting on Sydney’s nerves.  She said Sandy repeats everything 3 times and castaways are getting sick of her.  But then Sandy says in her one-on-one interview with the camera that Sydney needs to go because she is working her charm on all the boys, including sleeping without a bra on at night and rubbing up against them.

Out on Exile Island Taj receives her final clue for the hidden immunity idol, and said she now knows exactly where to find it.  Taj also finds out that Brendan never spoke to Sierra about her hidden alliance.  So Taj informs Sierra, who said she was in and was feeling very good about her new alliance that now crosses over 2 tribes and controls 2 hidden idols.

The next Tribal Challenge finds the tribe members running through a course to pick up puzzle pieces and bring them back to the start line.  Once all pieces were brought back, they could began to solve it.  The viewers were shown the answer, “Escape the vote (Jalapoa/Timbira) wins immunity.  It was close, but Timbira broke their loosing streak and won immunity.

Discussions at Jalapoa Tribe were whether to vote off Sandy or Sydney.  But at tribal council, Sandy was surprised that she was the one voted off.  Now both tribes are now even, six castaways against six cataways.  So this ends our episode 4 of the Realty TV show Survivorr Tocantins.

Survivor Tocantins 3rd Episode

February 26th, 2009

We Now Have A Third Castaway Voted 0ff

On the Realty TV show Survivor Tocantins, Night 6 at Timbira Tribe find Erinn saying she didn’t see it coming for her tribe to vote off Candace.  She is now in a panic, as she was attached to the hib of Candace for the last few days.  Coach also does not want Erinn in his alliance.

Timbira day 7 finding Jerry feeling sick for the last few days, and thinks it maybe was the beans or something he was eating that is causing his stomach to hurt real bad.  But, he doesn’t want to show any weakness to his tribe, and wants to be viewed as one of the stronger ones.

Jalapao day 7 is a fishing morning with the gear from winning the last challenge.  Using the net, they are having problems catching fish and they say they need to figure out a good system.  They were however able to fish with the pole and caught fish for a meal before the day’s challenge.

The Challenge was for 6 members from each tribe to be blind folded and tied together in pairs.  The remaining tribe member guides them through a maze to locate a bucket and make their way to a water tower to fill a bucket of water and race back to start to empty the water into a container that will raise a flag.  Next, they collect corn from another tower and fill the second container until that flag is raised.  The first tribe to fill both containers and raise both flags wins the rewards.

Jeff says, “want to know what you are playing for?”  The tribes are playing for an umbrella, chairs, pillows, blankets, and a hammock.  The winning tribe chooses one member from the loosing tribe to go to Exile island and that person will select someone from the winning tribe to join them.

The Timbira tribe fell way behind in the competition.  Blowing the challenge and allowing Jalapao to win the rewards.  Then Brendan, the 30 year old entrepreneur, choose Taj, the 37 year old former Pop Star, to join him at Exile Island.  Spencer was not shocked by the choice (same pair as last time).

Back at Timbira camp, Coach says “winners find a way to win, losers find a way to loose.  We got to get it together.”  Other comments from tribe were, “that sucked,” “we didn’t get beaten, we got humiliated.”  “It wasn’t even close.”  Tyson says, Coach wants his voice heard, which is what we all want and need.  Coach wants to vote off Erinn.  The Coach, Tyson, Sierra, and Debra are going to vote Erinn off next, per the Coach.

At Jalapoa camp, they celebrate victory.  Joe said it was awesome.  We could really do some damage if we win the next challenge.  He observed how pissed Coach was afterwards.  They then put their newly acquired tarp over their shelter to keep dry fro the next rain storm.

Exile Island we see they get another clue and shared it with each other.  It said the immunity idol was surrounded by wood (back at their respective tribes).  They have formed a secret alliance which will come into play after the merge.

The second challenge was for 2 members of each tribe to race to roll a large crate back to their starting mat.  Once the tribe has gathered all 6 crates, they must stack them to build a stair case that spells out their tribe’s name.  The first tribe to stack them correctly and get to the top of their tower wins immunity.

Jalapao ends up winning again, and receive the immunity.  The Timbira tribe must come back that night for tribal counsel and vote off one of their members.

Back at Timbira camp, Brendan finds his immunity idol and hides it under a rock nearby.  Jerry showed weakness in the challenge, and was still ill.  He could not eat beans for dinner again.  Erinn was glad that Jerry was sick, as it took her off the block, and put everyone on to Jerry for a possible eviction.  Jerry would not quit, no matter how bad he felt and said his tribe would have to vote him off before he would quit.

Jerry gets evicted at Tribal Council and said that this was one of his toughest experiences and hopes that one of his tribe members wins the million dollars.

Third Castaway voted off

February 26th, 2009

Jerry Is Voted Off

The 49 years old Jerry, from Rock Hill, South Carolina (1st Sergeant in the U.S. Army) is the third castaway to be voited off this season’s Survior Tocantins.

Jerry had been feeling sick for the last few days, and thinks it maybe was the beans or something he was eating that was causing his stomach to hurt real bad.  But, he doesn’t want to show any weakness to his tribe, and he wanted to be viewed as one of the stronger ones.

But it was too hard to hide this illness from his castaways, as his performance in the challenge was proof to his tribe’s members that he was truly sick.  Also evidence to his tribe was his laying down and resting, while not eating any beans and only a little bit of rice.

So Jerry ended up getting his whole tribe voting him off, unknown to him at Tribal Counsil.  But he also realized this was a strong possiblity because of his sickness.  We wish him well, and hope he now gets proper medical treatment.

Survivor Tocantins 2nd Episode

February 19th, 2009

The reality tv show Survivor Tocantins has its second show opening up with Jalapao tribe back at camp the night of the first tribal council from the first show. Sandy is saying she thought Carolina played her cards terribly wrong . . . “I believe I am underestimated in this game.  I want to win this thing.’

The Jalapao castaways brought back fire from tribal council, so they were able to start their camp fire very easily.  Spencer said that Sandy would go next.  “Carolina was first to go, next will be Sandy.”

Joe said they need to have some protein in their diet, and suggested eating termites.  So the next morning they set out on a hike looking for mounds.  They found one, and they all were eating termites for breakfast. (Is the breakfast of champions?  Could be . . . read on.)

Over the Timbira Tribe, Sierra said she is still on the outs with her tribe, so she will most definitely need to find the hidden imunity idol.  But she needed help in doing so, and asked Brandan, the 30 year old Entrepreneur, for help.  Sierra said Brandan was the one person who didn’t vote for her, and he is the one that she trusted the most.  But they got close to getting caught digging on the beach, so Sierra then made up a story that that they were making a big fire pit on the beach for that night fall.  (The story seemed to have been accepted as truth to this gullible tribe.)

Later Coach and Candace argued about how to cook the rice and beans, as they should be cooked separately or not?  They both apologized later, with the Coach being a big flirt.  Candace said the Coach has an ego bigger than Brazil.

At Jalapao, they were saying everywhere is so muddy.  Then Taj admitted to being married to a Heisman Trophy winner and former Tennessee Titan running back Eddie George.  J.T. said he now thinks she has way more money than he does.

Second Challenge for this Season!

The Challenge was for immunity, (“back up for grabs”).  They had to shoot a ball in the hoop, on a floor of water.  Three baskets would win it.  They were playing for fishing gear, and the winning tribe gets to send one castaway to Exile Island, where there was a clue to a hidden immunity idol.

The game was a lot of dirty fighting in the water.  Jalapao ended up winning with a final score of 3 to 2.  So they decided to send Brandan from Timbira to Exile Island.  But then Jeff read a twist to the game.  Brandan was asked to pick one castaway from the winning tribe of Jalapao, to join himself at Exile Island.  So he choose Taj.

Back at the Timbira tribe, Tyson thinks Sierra is numero uno on the chopping block.

At Jalapao, J.T. has been emerging as the Tribe leader.  He was very knowledgeable about how to use their new fishing gear. On Exile Island, there were 2 bottles, and each castaway had to choose one to open.  One bottle was empty, the other bottle contained to notes inside which Brandan read in private. A clue to the idol, and the 2nd note was a choice to switch tribes.  But Brandan said “no way.”

Back at Timbira, Candace was trash talking Coach to her fellow castaways, which got back to the Coach.  The Coach then said Candace was the bad apple in the camp.  Candace played a great physical game but on one wants a snake in the grass.

So this proved to be the down fall of Candace, as the Coach was able to strike back get everyone to vote her off.  He even told Sierra that she was save, and to vote off Candace.  Sierra said she didn’t trust what the Coach was saying for sure, but would go along with him.

So with Candace being blind-sided and voted off at Tribal Council, this has shown us that Benjamin, (known as the Coach), has extremely good abilities in the art of manipulation, and proven himself as a strong player on the Timbira Tribe.

Candace had to say afterwards, “I am surprised. I’m really pissed off.  I worked really hard.  I guess this more like day camp.”

New Survivor Tocantins

New Survivor 18

Survivor is a reality TV game show that is produced world-wide in different languages.  In the U.S. the show consists of cast members (contestants) who are dropped off in an isolated area of the world that is far away from civilization.  Each week the show goes through competitions for prizes, and ends up with usually one tribe member being voted off the show (island).  When there is only one final contestant remaining, he or she wins a million dollars.  In 2000, the first U.S. series was aired, and became a huge success.  The next series is Survivor 18 and will debut on Thursday, February 12, at 8:00pm ET/PT called Survivor Tocantins (pronounced “toe-can-cheens”).

Survivor Preview:

'Is This Love' SurvivorAs the show name implies, it will take place in Tocantins, Brazil.  Tocantins is a river, about 2,639 km (1.640 miles) long, flowing from central Brazil near Brasilia northward to the Para River southwest of Belem.  While the producers keep the exact location a secret, we can only guess that the tribes will be set-up somewhere along this long river.

The state is beautiful, and absolutely stunning is some areas.  However, our cast will be complaining about the heat a lot.  Temperatures are well over 100, even while sitting in the shade.  They are also prone to having tropical storms.  The place looks like a very high desert, with only some trees.  Along the long river are jungle like terrain, and both tribes we are told will be situated on this same river.  Close by there is a small village with power lines running along the road, so they are not as remote as we think, but the contestants probably won’t know this.

Meet the new cast members:
