Do You Need To Be A Villain To Win?
Tonight’s CBS episode of the reality TV show of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains brings with it the question of do we need to be evil to win the game? So far, four out of the five immunity challenges have been won by the Villains. So instead of being portrayed as evil back-stabbers, we see them as awesome athletes with sharp minds (being able to quickly solve complicated puzzles).
We see Russell doing what he does best, which is finding the immunity idol. Russell has the same strategy as before, and uses the idol to pull into his alliance with Parvati a new member. He approaches Coach with it, who gladly accepts the offer from Russell to join him in their new alliance.
Russell knows his biggest threat right now is Boston Rob, and he is working very hard to get people into his alliance in order to make a move on Boston Rob. We don’t really feel sorry for Boston Rob, as CBS has made him rich. Boston Rob has won a past Survivor show, appeared as a contestant on CBS The Amazing Race (which he did not win), but then was given his own wedding by CBS (along with money and expensive gifts) as he married his sweet heart from Survivor on TV. So in our book, he has already won!
Over in the Heroes camp there are big problems to solve. During tonight’s Reward Challenge, James gets pulled out as he injured his knee. So the Villains ended up winning a nice time at a private beach, while feasting on a 100% chocolate picnic. At the same time, James is being looked after by medical, and ends up having to wear a knee brace.
The Immunity Challenge involved the solving of a puzzle at the end of gathering up the pieces, and the Villains had no problem putting it all together and winning it again. But we do see that Boston Rob was a key player who was directing the tribe to victory, so if Russell eventually gets his way and eliminates him, the Villains would be back on an even playing field with the Heroes.
In the Heroes camp, everyone sees JT as the swing vote. Everyone also sees JT as a person who is not to be trusted and appears to have made a secret alliance with everyone. We start to think that JT probably would have been better suited as a Villain?
After carefully consideration, JT realizes that his deciding vote last week for Cirie has left himself in jeopardy with his alliance of Amanda, James, and Rupert. So to keep in grace with these guys, he went along with them to vote out Tom. Of course, Tom and Colby wanted James voted out due to his injury. But the final vote came at Tribal Council, resulting in the eviction of Tom. We liked Tom, but since he was a previous winner of Survivor, it is hard to feel bad for someone who already has won a million dollars.
The game is getting to be very interesting now, with the Villains clearly in the lead. As of right now, the tribe to be on is the Villains because of their majority of wins. But we have been watching this show for a long time now, so we know how things can always change beyond our wildest predictions. So we will stay tuned in two weeks for the game to continue (as next week, CBS will be airing March Madness).
